EXIT Festival
I am so proud to have worked with the creative team of EXIT festival - one of the best music festivals in the world!
What started as experimental Java application in 2009 was expanded to include Android and Blackberry platforms in 2010 and 2011. Beside the festival schedule and news, visitors could make their own plan how to get from here to there (there are *lots* of stages on the fortress), communicate via Twitter and send their own reports. Local businesses were engaged in subtle mobile marketing, since many tourists - most of them from the UK - visit the city during festival.
I work closely with the organizers and already thinking exciting new features for the next years' event. Find out what the festival is all about:
Parking Mobility
Our friends at parkingmobility.com are running application which helps people report violations of disabled parking spots to the authorities.
I was presented with typical REST web services made for the existing IPhone app. So, I have developed Android and Blackberry apps doing same operations (user profile, taking images, sending reports, etc.), with other platforms planned in the future.
Mongol Rally 2011
I was one of the founders of Team Rockrs - the first regional team ever to participate on the biggest road trip in the world - the infamous Mongol Rally. Our 2002 Citroen Jumper ambulance traveled 1/3 of the world, through 15 countries, 3 deserts and 5 mountain ranges, and reached its final destination Ulan Bator in 6 weeks. Journey is too epic to be described, check the map, pictures and many online videos.

We got support from big names such as Nokia, Delta Holding, Converse, Exit Foundation and many others. Our trip was covered many times in the local media. After the rally, the ambulance was donated to organization helping children with disabilities. Total charity donations of the 2011 Rally topped 250K EUR.
I made custom real-time mapping solution based on Nokia Maps, which allowed us to update the status and location (GPS readings) using SMS service. The system worked, from the most remote areas of the world where coverage is scarce and where we had to use local SIM cards to avoid roaming charges. Message was processed using gateway software running on Android device at home, which forwarded the update to our mapping web service. All this helped our friends and family not to worry so much :)
SHARE Conference
SHARE Conference is a new kind of festival created by the State of Exit Foundation. For the first time in the region, a host of internationally acclaimed internet and social activism experts, new media artists and renowned musicians will be present in one place at the same time.
The festival has two main program units: the innovative SHARE by Day education platform and intensive SHARE by Night with Tuborg parties. Belgrade will thus become the hot spot for sharing knowledge, ideas and fun at performances, lectures, workshops and exhibitions featuring representatives from Google, Harvard, MIT, Obama's marketing team and the likes.
Molly Moccasins
Molly Moccasins is series of animated stories about Molly the Adventurer, for web and mobile.
Android app consist of video player with captions, puzzle games, fun facts and other educational activities. Biggest challenge was doing the seamless nearly-HD video skipping from scene to scene, while keeping the subtitles in sync. App was released for the phones first, and later tablets, together with iPad version developed by other team members.
Mobi Karta
Mobi Karta is leading m-ticketing provider in Serbia. I have developed JavaME application for event and location browsing, ticket ordering and loyalty club operations.
Bluetooth Marketing
We created many effective mobile applications used for marketing and promotional activities. They can be distributed over-the-air and using Bluetooth delivery to the offline world at public places such as fair stands, banks, shopping malls, etc. Our mobile flyers do not get thrown away!

Kvadrati
Kvadrati.com is a real-estate portal focused on the Balkans region. I have developed Java ME and Android applications which connect to the web-service and help users find nearest properties for the matching criteria, receive alerts for new ads, share on social networks and more.
- It was great pleasure working with Fort Mobile. Beside the product being excellent, this was probably the easiest and least stressful technical cooperation we had so far.

Mobi Patrol
Mobi Patrol is unique Wikipedia-style mobile market. Users have opportunity to share prices of goods and services around them, helping others save money in the process.
For sellers, Mobi Patrol presents new channel to post their inventory, promote their business and increase sales.
App was presented for the first time at the How to Web conference in Belgrade. Here you can see me presenting in front of local entrepreneurs and bunch of other geeks:
Few months later, in September, Mobi Patrol has been listed as the Featured App at the global Android Market website. It has have small but growing user base in India. App has been featured in local media and has won "Best idea in tourism" Award by Razvojna Banka Vojvodine.

Sharpoid

About
Hello! My name is Srdjan (pronounced as Serge) Dakic and I am the owner and mobile developer at Fort Mobile, living in Belgrade.
I was 'infected' with programming on C64 in my early teens and this is what I do ever since. After few years of database apps to support myself through college (and a short stint as game dev) I went to US to join international team of engineers starting up a steel plant. Some big names - Danieli, Nucor - and very long hours, it made my greatest gig so far. Upon return, I finished military service and started working as desktop/mobile C# developer, with some embedded C++ thrown in.

Few years later, I started experimenting with Java ME and Symbian, and decided the future is there and it is going to be exciting. So I formed Fort Mobile and did lots of promo apps for local businesses. With smarter phones came bigger and better apps. I am especially proud of my long term relation with cool guys and girls of EXIT, one of the best music festivals in the world. Year after year we develop new stuff for the new events.
And this is what I expect from prospective clients: ongoing, long-term relationship, where we can both brainstorm ideas, come up with smart solutions and build great apps.
Beside doing jobs for clients, I have some side projects - see the "Apps" section above. I am interested in networking and establishing contacts with people with entrepreneurial spirit.
Whenever time allows, I hit the road with my significant other. We did many exciting road trips across US, but also through beautiful wilderness of Central Asia. Last year, we did the charity race and mother of all road trips - The Mongol Rally. Our favorite spot in Europe is the beautiful city of Munich where we return over and over again...
